Ready to take the next step in your career, growing alongside a vibrant independent bouldering wall? Indirock is a community-driven, non‑profit climbing wall based in sunny Southend‑on‑Sea - just 50 minutes by train from central London.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • All aspects of centre operations, including staff scheduling, customer service, cleanliness and facility maintenance.
  • The staff team, including development and implementation of staff and work experience training programs, staff meetings and performance reviews.
  • All aspects of centre safety and compliance, including conducting risk assessments and ensuring incident reporting is compliant and analysed regularly.
  • Proactively driving business growth by exploring and implementing new ideas and partnerships.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment and selection process for all centre staff.
  • Demonstrating transparency, openness and respect in dealing with staff and members of the public.
  • Ensure a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere is created at Indirock, encouraging climbers of all abilities, backgrounds and income levels to feel part of the community.
  • Follow all health and safety, environmental and other procedures as laid out by the Company and provided in the Employee Handbook.
  • Carry out additional or alternative tasks as the Company may require and comply with the policies and lawful directions of the Company.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of management experience within the climbing, leisure, or sports industry.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong ability to build rapport with customers and staff.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Passion for climbing/sports and a strong commitment to the company's values.
Desired Skills
  • Bouldering instructor/coaching qualifications.
  • Safeguarding experience.
  • Driving license.
Hours / Salary
  • 37.5 hours/week
  • £34-38k depending on experience, plus KPI-related bonus
