Job description
Overview

Who are we? The Cleaning Department is a large team providing cleaning to all areas of the hospital. Cleaners are generally assigned to a specific location, enabling them to feel part of the local area team and build great relationships. Cleaning is a vital service within the hospital, helping control the spread of infection and providing a welcoming and safe environment for all patients, staff and visitors.

The role requires a current right to work in the UK, which enables you to undertake the role without sponsorship. Under current UK immigration rules this role is not eligible for sponsorship and it is not possible for the Trust to sponsor applicants for a visa for this role. Accordingly, we regret that any application will not be considered if this requirement is not met.

We have a variety of hours that we are looking to fill. Our main shift patterns are weekday afternoon shifts between 11.30am – 10.00pm and weekend shifts 7.30am – 7.30pm inclusive of full‑time and part‑time roles. Are you looking for a new challenge in 2026? Come and join us at the Royal United Hospital, Bath and apply to join our team of cleaners where a fantastic journey and exciting opportunities await you.

We are looking for candidates who have a flexible approach, good communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to use their own initiative.

As part of our service improvement programme, we have a number of vacancies for cleaners with a wide variety of shift patterns available. Available shift lengths are between 3 hours and 7.5 hours throughout the day both in the week and at weekends.
