Lewes Town Council is looking for a reliable, motivated Cleaner to help care for our three community venues: All Saints Centre, Malling Community Centre and Lewes Town Hall. These buildings are busy public spaces used for performances, community events, meetings and civic functions - and some are Grade II listed, requiring careful and respectful cleaning.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Takes pride in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming spaces
  • Can follow instructions and work to an agreed schedule
  • Is comfortable working independently across multiple venues
  • Can use basic email and follow simple digital instructions
  • Works well with colleagues and is polite and professional with the public
  • Has previous cleaning experience and understands what high standards look like

In this role, you'll carry out day‑to‑day cleaning, support opening and locking up when required, and help ensure our venues remain safe, tidy and ready for community use. You'll be part of a small, friendly team but will often work alone, so reliability and a positive attitude are essential.

If you're hands‑on, organised, and want to contribute to the smooth running of valued community buildings, we'd love to hear from you.
