Salary: £13,393 per annum (£23,493 full time equivalent)
Contract Type: Permanent Part Time 15 hours per week
Hours: Monday – Friday 6:00am to 9:00am

The Opportunity

Join our friendly Estates team and play a key role in keeping our Barnsley campuses welcoming, safe and spotless. As a valued Cleaner, you’ll help maintain the high standards that make Barnsley College a great place to learn and work.

This part-time role is perfect for someone who enjoys early mornings and takes pride in creating clean, well-presented spaces. Working Monday to Friday, 6:00am–9:00am, you’ll ensure classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, workshops and communal areas are maintained to exceptional standards.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out a wide range of cleaning duties
  • Using cleaning equipment and materials confidently and safely
  • Restocking supplies and managing waste responsibly
  • Reporting safety or maintenance concerns promptly
  • Working both independently and alongside the wider Estates team

About You

You are someone who takes real pride in your work. Reliable, hardworking and adaptable, you enjoy being part of a team but are just as comfortable getting stuck in independently to get the job done.

You’ll bring
  • At least one year of cleaning experience in a school, college or professional setting
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Confidence in handling cleaning equipment and following Health & Safety procedures
  • The ability to follow schedules and complete a variety of cleaning tasks

Most importantly, you’re dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming environment where students and staff can thrive.

Required
  • Level 1 numeracy and literacy, or a strong willingness to achieve this qualification
  • Minimum of 1 year’s cleaning experience in an educational or professional setting
