Job Title: Classroom Technician / Assistant – Multi Skills Construction

Location: York – Centre based

Salary: £28,000

Package: Excellent Holiday Entitlement, Pension + more

Type: Full Time, Permanent

Duties:

  • Work closely with the Classroom Tutor, to ensure the construction workshop environment is clean, organised and compliant with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Provide technical and practical support to learners, during lessons.
  • Set up practical demonstrations and activities, alongside the Tutor.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to learners within the classroom.
  • Ensure that tools, materials and equipment are made available and organised for training sessions.
  • Conduct daily inventory and safety checks on tools, and ensure all tools are stored securely.
  • Undertake routine maintenance and checks on tools and equipment – maintaining accurate records.

Criteria:

  • Hold a level 2 qualification, as a minimum, within a relevant Construction trade.
  • Must hold occupational experience within Multi-Skilled Construction (Plastering; Painting & Decorating; Tiling; Carpentry etc.)
  • Hold – or be willing to work towards – a recognised Teaching or Assessing qualification.
  • Must hold own GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above / Functional Skills equivalents.
  • Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
