An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified England & Wales Solicitor to join a leading marine insurer as a Claims Manager, focusing on Freight, Demurrage & Defence (FD&D) matters. You’ll be part of a highly regarded legal team, supporting a diverse international membership of shipowners and charterers.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll manage a varied caseload, provide commercial legal advice, and work closely with experienced claims professionals, lawyers, and industry experts. The successful candidate will be well‑versed in maritime law and capable of handling matters from initial instruction to resolution.

What We’re Looking For
  • England & Wales qualified Solicitor (essential)
  • Strong legal advisory skills, in FD&D claims
  • Previous experience within a P&I Club or handling marine claims is preferred
  • This role would suit someone with experience at a P&I Club or within a shipping law firm.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with members and external providers
  • Confident in reserving, managing case strategy, and working independently
