Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience or awareness of nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of civil and structural design standards and best practices.
  • Experience with finite element modelling and validation techniques.
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation.
  • Familiarity with BIM-enabled design environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proactive, organised, and committed to continuous professional development.

  • Support analysis, design, and construction preparation for civil and structural works on nuclear projects.
  • Contribute across the full project lifecycle from bids to construction delivery.
  • Apply systems engineering principles and support requirements capture.
  • Prepare safety case inputs including SFRs, SDMSs, and DSRs.
  • Produce calculations, finite element models, and technical reports.
  • Support compliance with nuclear safety standards and CDM requirements.
  • Participate in site surveys, inspections, and technical investigations.
  • Assist with problem-solving and design optimisation.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

CIVIL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - NUCLEAR ENERGY
Overview
