A local chocolate shop is seeking a candidate for a flexible position focusing on chocolate production and customer service. Responsibilities include preparing chocolate, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent service to customers. Ideal applicants will be willing to learn and be reliable team players interested in gaining hands-on experience in a creative environment. THE EMPLOYER IS: THE CHOCOLATE MANOR. Location - The Chocolate Manor, 3 Main Street, Castlerock. Chocolate Production: Creating a range of handmade chocolate products to our exact specifications, as well as supporting colleagues in retail, packaging and experiences as required. Tasks will include the preparation of tempered chocolate, the production of a range of chocolate products, maintenance and cleaning of the workshop, adherence to all hygiene, health and safety requirements, completion of HACCP documentation. Retail Duties: Whilst the role will mainly be chocolate production, the post holder will be required to support with The Chocolate Shop. Tasks will include greeting and serving customers, advising and assisting customers with choosing our chocolate products and artisan products, sharing product knowledge, providing a high level of customer service, receiving personalised chocolate orders, conducting customer transactions (till operation), replenishing stock on shelves and updating production team on stock levels, assisting with shop deliveries, maintaining cleanliness of the shop, and following all Health & Safety and relevant HACCP procedures. Customer Service: The post holder may also be required to support Chocolate Experiences on occasion, including greeting and checking in participants, prepping materials, cleaning up after experiences, assisting the experience facilitator, and preparing refreshments. Previous chocolate production experience is not essential as full training will be given, but preference will be given to applicants with previous professional kitchen or food production experience. This role will involve both teamwork and independent working. We prioritise applicants who demonstrate a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to contribute to a small, hardworking team. We are happy to offer flexibility in how hours are worked, where possible, to support applicants in balancing other commitments. While any previous experience listed is welcome, it is not essential, as full training will be provided. This role would suit someone who is interested in learning new skills, gaining hands-on experience, and playing an active role in the success of a small local business.
