Job description

Are you a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager within Childrens Residential Care, looking for a new challenge? We are seeking someone who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people, with proven experience of management at a senior level in a residential setting.

As the Registered Manager of a Childrens Home specialising in learning disabilities, you will be responsible for ensuring a warm, nurturing, and therapeutic environment is delivered in line with our core values.

You will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, providing strong leadership to a dedicated and professional team. Your role will also include overseeing safeguarding, care planning, compliance, and driving continuous improvement. In addition, you will contribute to the strategic development of the home to ensure outstanding outcomes for children.

About You

  • Excellent knowledge of governing legislation and regulatory frameworks for childrens homes (Ofsted).
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce (or equivalent).
  • Commitment to obtaining (if not already held) a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young Peoples Services.
Your Responsibilities

As Registered Manager, you will :

  • Lead with vision, compassion and integrity, ensuring children receive exceptional care tailored to their needs.
  • Be the voice and advocate for both your team and the young people.
  • Build a home culture that is safe, inclusive, resilient and inspiring.
  • Mentor and develop staff, including coaching, supervision and training (facilitating QCF Level 3).
  • Oversee operational management, including staffing, budgets, and service development.
  • Ensure compliance with Childrens Homes Regulations and deliver evidence of high-quality care.
  • Champion independence and life skills for young people, placing safety and wellbeing at the centre of every decision.
