Job description

We are working with a client who are looking for a confident registered manager who is able to show passion and drive to achieve best outcomes for young people with learning disabilities. We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic manager to take over the management of a home in March; the home is warm and welcoming and provides support to young people aged 7-17 who have a learning disability, autism and associated behaviours.

Working as a Children's Home Registered Manager, you must be willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people, ensuring that they have an experience of childhood that they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader, someone who is tenacious and passionate with the ability to connect with those they meet and build meaningful and productive working relationships.

Your key responsibilities as the Registered Manager

Your primary role is to maintain the quality of our service as well as manage the team accordingly. Each day may differ, and you are expected to manage your workload accordingly in line with our business, employee and young peoples needs. Managing the home to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of children & young people and provide operational and administrative support to the home with the welfare of the young people being paramount.

You will work closely with the RI to register the new home and will ensure that all tasks are completed and the correct resources are in place; this will ensure that the business remains viable and occupancy levels are appropriate.

You will be able to effectively represent the company to outside agencies and ensuring compliance with the statutory requirements imposed by regulators and requirements of commissioners.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years recent working experience as a Residential Children's Home Registered Manager or strong deputy looking to progress
  • Previous experience of working with children and young adults with Learning Disabilities and complex behavioural issues is desirable
  • Experience in children’s safeguarding best practices.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent qualification) OR working towards a Level 5 qualification.
  • Passionate, Resilient, and highly adaptable.
  • The legal right to work in the UK

The salary is negotiable for the right candidate.
