Overview

As a Lifetime Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in our service. You will work closely with Community Children's Nurses to provide ongoing clinical care to children in their own homes and/or at school. The purpose of this role is to provide care to children with complex, life‑limiting health care needs that rely on technology to sustain their health. Parents need to be able to rest – Lifetime support workers work within the family’s home, overnight taking over responsibility for the child whilst parents sleep.

Responsibilities
  • Support registered nurses in the delivery of care to service users in the community, contributing towards the safe and seamless delivery of holistic care.
  • Work safely within your scope of practice and competence at all times.
  • Undertake clinical tasks to support each individual with personal care as set out in their care plans – gaining experience caring for a wide variety of health conditions and specialised equipment.
  • Work independently in the community, demonstrating strong verbal communication skills and initiative to ensure children and their families have the best experience.
