A local mental health organization is seeking a Local Champion to coordinate community programs for young people aged 11–18, focusing on mental health and wellbeing. The role requires experience working with youth, an enhanced DBS check, and a driving licence for travel in West Dorset. Are you experienced in working with young people (aged 11–18) and have a passion for mental health and wellbeing? Dorset Mind is looking for a Local Champion in West Dorset or the surrounding area to co-ordinate and run our CYP Community Active Monitoring Programme for young people.
The successful candidate will work with Children and Young People aged 11 to 18, delivering a range of prevention and early intervention activities based around mental health and wellbeing. This community-based role will involve managing a caseload of young people in a 1:1 guided self-help setting, both face to face and online. You will work with schools and family hubs and liaise with local statutory services.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this role, and a full driving licence with access to a car is essential, as you will be travelling to and from West Dorset at least twice a week.
