Overview

Childcare Solicitor, 2+ Years PQE, Plymouth, £50,000+ (DOE) – This is an exciting opportunity to work in a sensitive but rewarding area of law, making a real difference to families and children at some of the most challenging times in their lives. Job Ref: 1308

Responsibilities
  • This role offers the opportunity to develop further expertise within a supportive team, with scope to contribute to business development and the continued growth of the Family department.
  • You will be responsible for guiding clients throughout care proceedings, from early involvement through to final hearings.
  • You will also advise on Special Guardianship applications and related orders within public law proceedings.
  • Undertaking your own advocacy and representing clients at court.
  • Providing clear, empathetic advice to vulnerable clients in complex and often emotionally charged situations.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Applications are sought from Childcare Solicitors with a minimum of 2 Years PQE looking for that next step in their career.
  • Experienced in public law children matters, with confidence in managing your own caseload.
  • Skilled in advocacy and able to represent clients at hearings.
  • A strong communicator, able to explain complex legal issues in plain, reassuring language.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, sensitive area of law.
  • Empathetic, calm under pressure, and committed to supporting vulnerable clients.
