Overview

Are you enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of children and young people in Fife? Fife Council’s Out of School Clubs are the perfect place for you. We support families by providing a safe and fun environment for children and young people while their parents/carers attend work, training, or further education. Our clubs offer a wide range of play-based activities that keep the children engaged and happy.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan and Supervise Activities: Work with other likeminded individuals to plan, create and inspire the children to engage in a wide range of activities and experiences.
  • Set Up Play Spaces: Create magical, inviting play areas to allow the children to be creative and capture their imagination and interests.
  • Encourage Independence: Support children to explore their interests, confidence, self-esteem and life-long skills.
  • Provide Nutritious Snacks: Support children to make healthy snacks that cater to dietary and nutritional needs.
  • Handle Accidents/Incidents: Be the hero in emergencies with your quick response.
  • Assist with Record Keeping: Support the Senior Childcare Practitioner to ensure everything is organised and running smoothly.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Is fun, engaging, adaptable, enthusiastic about working with children and young people.
  • Has experience of working with children and young people within a play, care or learning setting.
  • Is willing to work towards the SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or already holds a suitable qualification.

Additional Information
  • Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
  • As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration. If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months. More details are included in the role profile.
