Salary: £45ph umbrella

About the Role

As a Social Worker, you will provide essential support to individuals and families facing a wide range of challenges. You'll assess needs, develop care plans, and work alongside multidisciplinary teams to safeguard vulnerable people and improve their quality of life. This is a highly rewarding role where you will directly impact the wellbeing and safety of those you support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct detailed assessments and risk evaluations for service users.
  • Care Planning: Develop, implement, and review tailored support plans.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the protection of vulnerable children and adults.
  • Advocacy: Support clients to access healthcare, housing, benefits, and community resources.
  • Collaborative Working: Partner with healthcare professionals, local authorities, and voluntary organisations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely case notes in compliance with professional standards.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Education: Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Car driver required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in perm statutory placement.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong case management and problem-solving ability; resilience and empathy when working with complex cases.
  • Collaborative Mindset: A proactive team player who values safeguarding and empowerment.

The role requires a committed and proactive social worker who is able to contribute effectively to a dynamic team. As part of team cover duties, the worker is expected to be on duty twice a week and attend the office three days a week. The role involves undertaking comprehensive assessments, ensuring that all case recordings are accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of current situation. This includes conducting holistic assessments, Child in Need (CIN) plans, Child Protection (CP) plans, as well as supporting both public and private proceedings.

In addition to assessments and recording, the role encompasses chairing and participating in multi-agency meetings, undertaking direct work with children and families, and completing statutory visits as required. The worker will be expected to ensure all interventions are timely, appropriate, and adhere to statutory guidance. This role demands strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise a complex workload, and a commitment to promoting positive outcomes for children and families through effective social work practice.
