Chief Accountant within a local authority based in London. The role is a temporary position for 6 to 9 months, paying £750 – £850 per day. The role will involve hybrid working.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and analyze management information, including financial reports and project plans, recommending actions as appropriate.
  2. Maintain, develop, and review business support systems, processes, and procedures to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
  3. Deliver specialist services, advising and assisting customers to maximize service quality, efficiency, and continuity.
  4. Maintain knowledge of the organisation’s current systems, policies, and procedures.
  5. Resolve issues and queries independently, recommend alternative solutions if unable to assist, and ensure efficient customer service.

Planning & Organising:

  1. Monitor service objectives and standards within own area to ensure effective service delivery.
  2. Plan and prioritize work activities to ensure operational efficiency, adjusting to changing demands as needed.

Minimum Experience Required:

  1. Recent experience as a Chief Accountant or leading Financial Accountant within a Local Authority setting.
