Job summary

We are recruiting for a Chef to join our Catering team at our Outstanding CQC rated hospice in Bradford.

Hours and Contract

Full Time 37.5 hours per week – shifts Mon‑Fri 07:30‑15:30 and 10:00‑18:00. Weekends and bank holidays 07:30‑15:30.

Contract Type: 12 months Fixed Term.

Location

Marie Curie Bradford Hospice, Maudsley Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD3 9LE.

Responsibilities
  • Hands‑on cooking with strong practical, imaginative and creative skills.
  • Organised, flexible and pro‑active approach to work.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Self‑motivate and manage time effectively.
  • Assist Head Chef with supervision of Catering Assistants, produce staff rotas and help recruit junior staff.
  • Select approved suppliers and place orders.
Qualifications
  • City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2, or Level 2 NVQ in Food Production and Cooking, or equivalent.
  • Basic Food Hygiene.
  • High levels of Health and Safety awareness.
  • Relevant catering and supervisory experience.
  • Flexibility with shift patterns.
