We are hiring for a Chef Manager at King Harold School, Waltham Abbey to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food. This role is term‑time only and does not include weekends, making it ideal for those looking for flexibility.

Remuneration & working hours:

  • £18 per hour
  • 37.5 hours per week (Monday‑Friday)
  • Term‑time only – 39 weeks per year
Key responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client.
  • Ensure the location meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations and procedures.
  • Enhance the company’s reputation for excellent food and service, consistently exceeding client and customer expectations.
  • Run the day‑to‑day operations of the location and supervise teams, including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the client in your school, recommending and implementing regular adjustments and improvements.
  • Communicate regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets, ensuring they are achieved.
  • Support and train teams, leading by example to ensure all training is completed and performance is managed.
