Responsibilities
  • Own your section* : From mise‑en‑place to final plating, you'll be responsible for delivering quality, consistency, and creativity during each service.
  • Lead and support* : Guide and mentor Commis and Demi Chefs, ensuring smooth communication, clean stations, and high morale.
  • Maintain high standards* : Follow recipes and presentation specs, while meeting food hygiene and safety standards every step of the way.
  • Manage your resources* : Monitor stock levels, place accurate orders, manage portion control, and reduce food waste.
  • Share ideas* : Contribute to menu development, daily specials, and plating presentations, your voice matters here.
  • Stay proactive* : Report faults, maintain cleanliness, and collaborate with the kitchen and service teams to keep operations running seamlessly.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a busy hotel or restaurant kitchen at Demi CDP or CDP level
  • Knowledge of various sections (e.g. larder, sauce, garnish, pastry)
  • Passion for cooking, learning, and developing others
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Understanding of kitchen operations, food hygiene and safety procedures (including COSHH)
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota
  • Ambition to grow and take your career to the next level
