Overview

Freelance Chartered Structural Engineer - High-Rise Residential (London)

Location: London (Multiple Sites) • Contract Type: Freelance / Consultancy • Start Date: ASAP • Duration: Ongoing / Project-Based

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Freelance Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng) to support a range of high-rise residential projects across London. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex, large-scale developments at various stages - from concept design through to construction.

Responsibilities
  • Lead structural design and analysis for high-rise residential buildings
  • Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and reports
  • Conduct site inspections and advise on structural matters during construction
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and contractors
  • Ensure designs comply with UK building regulations, Eurocodes, and relevant standards
  • Provide expert input on value engineering and buildability
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE or MIStructE)
  • Strong experience in high-rise residential structures (RC frame essential)
  • Proficient in structural design software (e.g. Tekla, ETABS, Robot, Tedds)
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Based in or able to travel regularly within London
