A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Chartered Associate Fire Engineer to join their established fire engineering team in Birmingham or Manchester. This organisation works on complex, high-profile projects across the built environment and is now looking to strengthen its senior technical capability due to continued growth.
Chartered Associate Fire Engineer – Role
As a Chartered Associate Fire Engineer, you will be a key member of the fire engineering discipline, able to lead medium-to-large projects and support the delivery of complex fire strategies across multiple sectors. Your role will include:
- Leading the delivery of fire engineering design, fire strategy development and engineered solutions
- Overseeing modelling outputs, including CFD analysis and evacuation modelling, ensuring technical accuracy and quality
- Managing and coordinating project teams, acting as technical lead and senior point of contact for clients
- Mentoring and supervising Graduate and Intermediate Engineers, supporting their pathway to chartership
- Providing expert guidance on building regulations, fire safety standards and legislative compliance
- Assist with tender submissions and PQQ completions
- Engaging confidently with clients, design teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
- Supporting business development activities and contributing to continued growth within the region
- Driving technical excellence and contributing to internal standards, procedures and best practice
Chartered Fire Engineer / Associate Fire Engineer Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status – essential
- Extensive experience working as a Chartered Associate Fire Engineer or equivalent senior-level position
- Strong technical capability in fire engineering design, modelling, and development of fire strategies
- Proficiency with modelling tools
- Excellent understanding of UK fire safety legislation, building regulations and industry guidance
- Demonstrable experience managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and consultancy skills, with confidence engaging clients at senior level
- Ability to support and mentor engineers progressing toward chartership
- Desire to contribute to technical excellence, innovation and long-term business growth
