Celebrant Registrars 2 | 9439 | Permanent Contract | Flexible hours per week | £13.69 to £14.59 per hour | Scale E | Norwich
Would you be interested in joining a professional and dedicated team of Celebrant Registrars delivering outstanding legal and non-legal ceremonies across Norfolk? We are looking to recruit friendly, vibrant, outgoing people with a meticulous attention to detail who can deliver an unforgettable service.
You must be willing to take on legal responsibility, be able to manage large groups of people, have excellent organisational skills, work well under pressure and be comfortable with public speaking.
It will be your responsibility to ensure you deliver all the essential legal elements we require as a registration service. You’ll have a confident approach with the ability to adjust your style to suit the ceremony choices of each couple to ensure we deliver to our customers’ expectations.
We are particularly looking for people living around the Dereham, North Walsham & Thetford areas but we will also consider applications from other areas.
Saturdays are the most popular day of choice for couples booking ceremonies and so we are looking for new team members who can offer availability on Saturdays mainly. This will be an important factor in the short listing for interviews, so please utilise the notes box on the application form to advise.
The hours are dependent on the seasonal fluctuation of ceremony bookings, the vast majority of these being during the summer months. This also means hours worked are variable each month and considerably less during the winter. This role would therefore suit someone looking to supplement an existing income.
Full training will be given for each aspect of the Celebrant and Registrar role.
Training dates will be over 2 full days in March 2026 at County Hall. Training dates to be confirmed at interview.
Please factor in your availability for all of the above when submitting your application.
If you would like an informal discussion regarding this vacancy prior to submitting your application, please contact Laura Forster or Jenny Cocks at teamleadersceremonies@norfolk.gov.uk.

We would like to make you aware that priority consideration for this post may be given to current employees who are at risk due to restructure within the organisation or are in a redeployment position.
We may close applications early if there is a high volume of applicants.
Redeployment closing date: 11th December 2025 at 23:59
All other applicants closing date: 4th January 2026 at 23:59
Interview dates will be Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd February 2026.
