Overview
Catastrophe Modelling Analyst at Arch Capital Group, London, United Kingdom. Permanent role with a focus on management and modelling of the property portfolio, producing monthly reports and supporting internal/external reporting and data needs for modelling.
Responsibilities
- Lead analyst for property across multiple sub-classes of business, including Arch's UK and Australia primary business as well as traditional D&F.
- Manage all aspects of the property portfolio for exposure management and catastrophe analytics purposes.
- Analyse monthly variances and ensure data governance within Arch portfolios.
- Prepare data for outwards reinsurance purchasing for multiple Arch entities.
- Assist with internal and external reporting.
- Support during Event Response.
- Complete ad hoc requests from underwriters to assist with pricing and monitoring of risk.
- Address ad hoc requests from the Catastrophe Managers and Head of Department.
Qualifications
- Good working knowledge of at least 1 catastrophe model, preferably Verisk/AIR.
- Strong understanding of Insurance gained in a relevant industry role.
- Practical knowledge of property insurance policies.
- Ability to communicate complex catastrophe modelling concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Proven organisational and workload management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills, including programming skills (Excel, VBA and SQL).
- Analytical/technical mindset with an understanding of Catastrophe Models and financial model output.
- Degree qualified, or 3 years' experience in Insurance; 3+ years Insurance experience.
- Experience working in a similar role, in a Lloyd\'s syndicate or similar.
- Experience modelling property policies for catastrophe modelling.
