Job summary

A leading insurance firm in Camden Town is seeking a Catastrophe Modelling Analyst to manage the property portfolio and support reporting needs. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with catastrophe modelling, and excellent IT proficiency. This permanent role focuses on exposure management and communication of complex concepts to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of at least 1 catastrophe model, preferably Verisk/AIR.
  • Strong understanding of Insurance gained in a relevant industry role.
  • Practical knowledge of property insurance policies.

Overview

Catastrophe Modelling Analyst at Arch Capital Group, London, United Kingdom. Permanent role with a focus on management and modelling of the property portfolio, producing monthly reports and supporting internal/external reporting and data needs for modelling.

Responsibilities
  • Lead analyst for property across multiple sub-classes of business, including Arch's UK and Australia primary business as well as traditional D&F.
  • Manage all aspects of the property portfolio for exposure management and catastrophe analytics purposes.
  • Analyse monthly variances and ensure data governance within Arch portfolios.
  • Prepare data for outwards reinsurance purchasing for multiple Arch entities.
  • Assist with internal and external reporting.
  • Support during Event Response.
  • Complete ad hoc requests from underwriters to assist with pricing and monitoring of risk.
  • Address ad hoc requests from the Catastrophe Managers and Head of Department.
Qualifications
  • Good working knowledge of at least 1 catastrophe model, preferably Verisk/AIR.
  • Strong understanding of Insurance gained in a relevant industry role.
  • Practical knowledge of property insurance policies.
  • Ability to communicate complex catastrophe modelling concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Proven organisational and workload management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills, including programming skills (Excel, VBA and SQL).
  • Analytical/technical mindset with an understanding of Catastrophe Models and financial model output.
  • Degree qualified, or 3 years' experience in Insurance; 3+ years Insurance experience.
  • Experience working in a similar role, in a Lloyd\'s syndicate or similar.
  • Experience modelling property policies for catastrophe modelling.
