Overview

The Kings School, Canterbury, one of the UK’s leading independent schools, is seeking a skilled Carpenter/Caretaker to support the upkeep of our historic and diverse estate. This role offers the opportunity to work within a friendly and professional premises team, contributing to the care of buildings that combine centuries of heritage with modern educational facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake a wide range of carpentry repairs, planned maintenance tasks, refurbishments, and small works across all school sites.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and Premises Carpenters to ensure high‑quality workmanship and a responsive service to staff and pupils.
  • Assist with general maintenance, occasional logistics, and on‑call duties.
Qualifications
  • Qualified carpenter (NVQ/C&G) with experience in building or maintenance sector.
  • Strong organisational skills and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Experience working within heritage settings or with traditional construction methods is desirable.
Benefits
