Overview

Job title: Carpenter

Location: Croydon

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Salary: up to £37,000 per annum, plus company van & fuel card

Hours: 42.5 hours per week (8:00–17:00, Monday – Friday)

We are the largest provider of repairs and maintenance, and regeneration services across the UK. Mears provides tailored rapid-response and planned maintenance services through partnering arrangements with more than 70 local authorities, Arm’s Length Management Organisations and Housing Associations.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out reactive carpentry repairs in occupied properties
  • Undertaking 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
  • Hanging doors, skirting, architraves, fixing windows/doors, lock changes, repairing worktops, kitchen units, etc.
  • Providing high levels of customer care at all times
Role Criteria
  • Experience or NVQ in Carpentry
  • Social housing experience
  • A UK full valid driving licence
Additional requirements
  • All roles require entitlement to work in the UK; Mears does not offer visa sponsorship.
  • To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence for more than 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.
  • Candidates must be willing to undergo relevant DBS / Security checks before commencement of employment.
