Job description

We are looking to appoint a vibrant and enthusiastic member of staff with the drive and ambition to share our passionate belief that every child and young person should have the opportunity to realise their full potential; to be encouraged to raise their aspirations; and to have the opportunity to learn in an environment that is safe.

The successful applicant will be required to work 25 hours per week, ideally 12noon - 17:00hrs. There may occasional variation to this to cover for annual leave, absence and flexibility in the school holiday periods.

You would need to be physically fit, as the post requires moving of furniture.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance, cleanliness of the site, heating, health & safety, general day-to-day running of the school and help in preparing for events and exams setting up. You will have good DIY skills, knowledge of Health & Safety, basic IT skills and an understanding of safeguarding. We offer fantastic CPD opportunities as an academy and as a wider multi-academy trust so can provide support if there are any areas that you may need to be upskilled or trained.

The successful candidate is required to hold a valid driver's licence as they would be required to travel to one of our other sites from time‑to‑time and may be required to drive the school minibus (proof of driving licence will be required during the recruitment process). Experience of a similar role is desirable, but training will be provided for someone with the right skills.

This key role has many aspects but will include the following:

• Site security and safety
• General property and site maintenance including redecoration. Taking pride in maintaining our school site both internally and externally to a very high standard
• Health and Safety, compliance keeping accurate health & safety records
• Cleaning Grounds maintenance
• Operate the school's online maintenance system
• Driving the school minibus
• Porterage services
