Job summary

A local educational institution in Ramsgate is looking for a dedicated individual to take on the role of Site Maintenance and Security. The candidate will ensure the safety of the premises, manage site maintenance, and maintain health and safety compliance. Job description

We are looking to appoint a vibrant and enthusiastic member of staff with the drive and ambition to share our passionate belief that every child and young person should have the opportunity to realise their full potential; to be encouraged to raise their aspirations; and to have the opportunity to learn in an environment that is safe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for security of the school site, maintenance, cleanliness of the site, heating, health & safety, general day-to-day running of the school and help in preparing for events and exams setting up. You will have good DIY skills, some knowledge of Health & Safety, basic IT skills and an understanding of safeguarding. We offer fantastic CPD opportunities as an academy and as a wider multi-academy trust so can provide support if there are any areas that you may need to be upskilled or trained.

The successful candidate is required to hold a valid driver’s licence as they would be required to travel to one of our other sites from time-to-time and may be required to drive the school minibus (proof of driving licence will be required during the recruitment process). Experience of a similar role is desirable, but training will be provided for someone with the right skills.

The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week, shift times vary staring 5am & latest finish time 9.45pm. There will be occasional weekends due to lettings, shifts adjusted accordingly. You would need to be physically fit and be able to work at heights.

This key role has many aspects but will include the following:

  • Site security and safety
  • Out of hours key holder
  • Locking and unlocking
  • General property and site maintenance including redecoration.
  • Taking pride in maintaining our school site both internally and externally to a very high standard
  • Health and Safety, compliance keeping accurate health & safety records
  • Cleaning
  • Grounds maintenance
  • Operate the school's online maintenance system
  • Driving the school minibus
