Role: Care Support Worker

Location: Eltham, Greenwich

Start Date: January 5th 2026

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Pay: 95-120 per day (depending on experience and training)

About the Role

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Eltham (Greenwich) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Care Support Worker to provide one-to-one assistance for a pupil with a tracheotomy. This vital role begins on January 5th and requires someone confident in delivering medical support alongside compassionate day‑to‑day care within a school environment.

As a Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the child's medical safety throughout the school day, assisting with classroom participation, and maintaining open communication with staff and healthcare professionals. Your presence will play an essential part in helping the pupil access a full and positive learning experience.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Care Support Worker will:

  • Have training and experience in tracheotomy care
  • Be confident using a suction machine to clear mucus via the tracheotomy
  • Be capable of changing a tracheotomy in an emergency
  • Demonstrate empathy, calmness, and reliability in all situations
  • Have prior experience supporting children or young people with complex medical needs in a school or healthcare setting
  • Hold valid First Aid and safeguarding training (or be willing to complete these)
