Companionship Services

• Offer companionship and conversation.
• Stimulate and encourage through a variety of activities (e.g., clothing selection, hobbies, and crafts).
• Accompany clients to appointments and social events (e.g., visiting friends or family, lunch, club meetings).

Home Help Services

• Perform light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, washing and ironing, taking out rubbish, caring for houseplants, etc.).
• Organise and tidy cupboards, check food expiry dates, and support with shopping.
• Demonstrate knowledge of good food safety and the ability to cook a variety of meals from raw ingredients.
• Assist with pet care.

Personal Care

• Support with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assist with continence care.
• Consider and understand the perspective of individuals with Dementia/Alzheimer's.
• Assist with morning and evening routines.

Requirements

• Ability to listen, communicate clearly, and build relationships with clients and families in a friendly, pleasant manner.
• Respect for people from different backgrounds and beliefs, including those with a range of medical conditions; commitment to non-discriminatory care practice.
• Excellent timekeeping, organisation, and reliability.
• Good hygiene practices, including personal hygiene and a smart appearance.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure from the relevant body.
• Class 1 business insurance (if using your own car for business purposes) or reliable transport.
• No formal qualifications required.
