Job description
Overview

Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with a good knowledge of psychosis and a passion for the Early intervention ethos? CAMEO, the award winning service, operates across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust via two established bases in their busy cities. This post will be located in Cambridge where we are seeking to recruit highly trained and hard working Band 6 Care Coordinators: Mental health Nurses, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists. The practitioner will provide specialist advice, assess, plan and implement care to a designated caseload while promoting the EI ethos and ensuring the safety and well-being of service users and their families/carers through family intervention models.

The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner responsible for a defined caseload. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health, be a team player with a great work ethic; a sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under pressure and a desire for innovation. We are able to support agile working for staff, using all appropriate IT equipment and support.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments of individuals and their families in the designated care group with complex health presentations, including those service users presenting with higher levels of risk.
  • Work alongside the service user to develop their care plan along the recovery principles and offer specialist assessment and advice where required.
  • Assess, manage and regularly review ongoing risks as identified during the assessment, ensuring that this is done in collaboration with the service user and carers.
  • Ensure that clinical practice is evidence based and consistent with relevant NICE guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.
  • Provide supervision of junior staff and trainees where appropriate (mentorship and preceptorship qualifications).
  • To act within the relevant Code of Conduct dependent on your Registration Body.
