Job summary

A community support organization is seeking a Care Assistant to assist a 17-year-old with cerebral palsy in the Stanley area. This young man enjoys socialising and would like support to access the community. He has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. He would like to get out and about and engage in activities away from the family home to promote his independence. He has a great sense of humour and enjoys a good joke.

This role is for 4 hours per week (Saturday or Sunday), during term time and 8 hours per week during school holidays, there is more flexibility on days during school holidays.

£13 per hour

Duties will include:

• Assisting this young man to access public transport
• Supporting with activities/visits of his choice
• Personal care needs

Additional requirements/information:

• Experience in supporting with personal care needs desirable
• Moving and handling experience desirable
• Willingness to build up a relationship with this young man and promote independence
• An Advanced DBS will be required
