A leading educational support provider in Sherborne is seeking a Bank Youth Support Worker to foster the wellbeing of young people through various community activities. The role involves providing personal care and supporting placement assistance, all within a collaborative environment with professionals in Care, Education, and Therapy. Ideal candidates are compassionate, patient, and proactive, ready to make a positive impact on the lives of 16 to 25-year-olds at Lufton College, known for its supportive tradition for individuals with autism.
As a Bank Youth Support Worker you will be working in an exquisite environment, supporting young people with community activities such as horse riding, swimming, cinema, pantomimes and beach visits which will enrich their wellbeing and community access. You will support them with placement assistance and enrichment to ensure they have a wealth of opportunities for the future, and personal care will also be required within this role. This unique opportunity lets you work collaboratively across Care, Education and Therapeutic Services with trained, qualified professionals from our multidisciplinary team. The young people we educate and care for at Lufton College come to us with a huge variety of needs and abilities. Our challenge is to help build the hope, confidence, knowledge and skills that unlock their potential. From innovative educational experiences to national curriculum programmes, supported by passionate teams of specialists and key workers, we actively enable each young person to achieve their personal best in a setting that best suits them.
We are one of the largest providers of specialist education and behavioural health services for children and adults in the UK, offering a broad range of services across England including specialist education schools and colleges for residential and day students, residential care homes and a therapeutic fostering service. We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and are committed to safeguarding and protecting the young people and service users within our care.
All candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check and reference checks. Cambian will conduct online searches for all shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check and the search will be purely based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information when relevant and of concern.
