Overview

Care Assistant - Doris Jones is looking for Care Assistants to join our dedicated community team in Southend-on-Sea, Essex and the surrounding areas, covering Southend, Shoebury, Leigh on Sea, Benfleet, and everywhere in between - on a permanent basis.

Shifts available between 7am-1pm and 4pm-10pm, Monday to Sunday, ideally including two weekends per month.

We are particularly looking for applicants that can commit to working 30 hours per week.

About the role

As a Care Assistant, you\'ll make a real difference to people\'s lives every day. You\'ll support individuals with daily tasks, promote independence, and offer meaningful companionship - always maintaining dignity, privacy and respect. Whether working solo or as part of a pair, you\'ll report directly to a Care Supervisor and be a key part of our close-knit team.

Essential for this role is holding a driving licence and access to a car for work, as well as willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Supporting with personal care, preparing meals, and assisting with medication
• Providing emotional support and friendly companionship
• Working with healthcare professionals to deliver individualised care plans
• Keeping clear, accurate records and sharing important updates with the care team
• Encouraging clients to take part in social and therapeutic activities
