Job description

Cardiac Sciences at Imperial NHS Healthcare Trust are seeking highly motivated and dynamic individuals to join our growing team of Cardiothoracic Advanced Nurse Practitioners and play a leading role in service transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver patient‑centred care at an advanced level while being at the forefront of clinical practice within the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take part in patient ward rounds, clerking new admissions and performing patient discharges.
  • Prescribe medications and hold a non‑medical prescriber qualification. Review and prescribe medication in a timely manner ensuring it is within your knowledge, competence and the Trust’s policy for non‑medical prescribing.
  • Conduct urgent patient reviews for cardiac cases, coordinate referrals with the Senior Registers and Pre‑assessment team, and plan patients in preparation for surgery; communicate with other NHS organisations.
  • Support and work alongside nursing teams within acute settings.
  • Collaborate with consultants in outpatient clinics to manage patients.
  • Coordinate the movement of patients into and out of specialised cardiac beds to maintain flow and provide prompt care.
  • Follow clinical management plans, the NMC Professional Code of Conduct and Trust Policies.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Non‑medical prescriber qualification.
