On behalf of our client, we are looking for a C++ Software Engineer for a 12‑month contract. The role involves developing solutions for the next generation of Air Defence Systems, enhancing products while maintaining safety, performance and dependability.

Role: C++ Software Engineer

Pay: £65 per hour via Umbrella

Contract: Monday‑Friday, 37 hours per week, 12‑month contract

Location: Bristol

IR35 Status: Inside

Security Clearance: SC to start, UK Eyes only project

Essential Requirements / Skills / Experience
  • Strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system‑wide impact.
  • Experience working in C++.
  • Collaborative, open approach to development; ability to work well in a team and maintain momentum.
  • Experience across the entire software development process, from engaging with requirement authorities to automated target integration and proving, supported by effective documentation.
  • Experience with new tools, techniques and approaches to evolve processes and improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Experience in other languages such as Ada, Qt.
  • Knowledge of DDS middleware and real‑time operating systems.
  • Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00‑55, DO‑178C or IEC 61508 and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++.
