We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our Head Office Commercial team as a Buyer. This role involves a blend of sales analysis, supplier management, marketing coordination, and product development to drive our business forward.

Sterling Supergroup Ltd, based in Maldon, Essex is a not-for-profit true members co-operative supporting 33 wholesale foodservice businesses throughout the UK and Ireland, all or our members are family-owned and operated.

Duties
  • Supplier Management:Meet and vet new suppliers, negotiate terms, and monitor performance with key suppliers.
  • Product Sourcing:Source new products that align with our brand and market needs.
  • Promotion Management:Manage various promotions to enhance product visibility and sales.
  • Pricing Updates:Update pricing information every week.
  • Sales Analysis:Analyse past sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Buying Meetings:Attend monthly buying meetings to discuss own label contracts
  • Own Label Development:Develop, negotiate, and manage Sterling’s Caterers Essentials branded products in liaison with suppliers.
  • Quality Control:Conduct sample testing to ensure product quality.
  • Marketing Coordination:Coordinate marketing and advertising efforts to boost promotions.
  • Business Development:Visit members and suppliers to strengthen relationships and explore new opportunities.
  • Newsletter Production:Produce a weekly newsletter to keep stakeholders informed.

Travel will be required monthly.
