About the Role and Client:

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a Buyer to ensure on-time delivery of parts and materials, maintain agreed stock levels, and achieve the best value for the business. You ll play a key role in supporting production targets and supplier management.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret requirement plans and manage purchase orders.
  • Progress orders to meet customer delivery schedules.
  • Analyse buying patterns and predict future trends.
  • Negotiate contracts and assess supplier suitability.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve quality issues.
  • Secure long-term cost agreements and review supply agreements.
  • Support cost‑down programmes and process ECNs.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and manual systems.
  • Record and report vendor performance data.
  • Collaborate with accounts on financial data and budgeting.
  • Act as SAP Super User for purchasing.
  • Manage contractor fitments in line with production needs.
