Job description

Overview

Hydrasun is a recognised market leader in the provision of integrated fluid transfer, power and control solutions. We are focused on supporting the energy transition through our work in the oil and gas, renewable energy, general industrial and marine industries worldwide.

We are recruiting for a Buyer to join our Purchasing team, based at our Aberdeen Headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Process requisitions and pricing requests promptly and accurately
• Source, price, and purchase materials and services in line with company procedures
• Ensure all orders are legally binding and meet Hydrasun’s requirements
• Analyse and evaluate supplier offers, addressing commercial and technical issues
• Select suppliers in line with Supplier Management Strategies
• Place purchase orders within financial authority limits
• Run and manage MRP reports daily and place stock orders accordingly
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery
• Liaise with suppliers and internal teams on product, pricing, and lead time changes
• Resolve invoice queries and approve changes efficiently
• Manage strategic suppliers and support supplier agreement setup
• Close out NCRs and CIFs in a timely manner
• Drive cost savings through negotiation and sourcing alternatives
• Utilise surplus materials to reduce costs
• Support business improvement and cost reduction initiatives

Essential Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a procurement or buyer role
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Qualification in purchasing methods
• Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (Syspro experience advantageous)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage changing workloads
• Initiative to drive forward projects and improvements
• Understanding of equipment and instrumentation is beneficial
• Team player with accountability, diligence, and a mentoring mindset

Desirable

• Experience with Hydrasun products or similar
• Experience in solution finding
• Planning and scheduling skills
