Job summary

A governmental body in North West England is seeking an enthusiastic Business Support Officer for a part-time role. You will support the Education and Children’s Directorate, engaging with managers and the public. The ideal candidate will be passionate about service delivery, possess administrative experience, and have strong communication skills. Job Title

School Improvement Business Support Officer Grade 4 part time (22.2 hrs) temporary until end June 2026 or return of substantive post holder

We are looking for an enthusiastic highly motivated Business Support Officer to enhance our already established friendly and supportive team who will contribute to the key work of the Education and Children’s Directorate.

This post provides support to managers and operation colleagues within the Education Quality and Performance (School Improvement) and the office base is at County Hall be aware we are presently hybrid working from home and the office location.

What we are looking for

Passion. You’ll be passionate about delivering a great service and experience its what will motivate you getting it right first time asking for support when you need it and building on the skills that you’ve developed elsewhere.

Knowledge and Experience. Ideally you will have experience of working within an administration setting and have knowledge of using Microsoft packages and databases.

Great Communication. You’ll be engaging and providing advice to Managers Social Workers families members of the public and the rest of the team on a daily basis so being able to clearly communicate the information you need and listen to individual requirements is key.

Working arrangements

We are currently working a combination of home and office working; therefore you will be required to have a suitable working space within your home and broadband connection. If you are unable to provide a suitable homeworking environment you will be required to work from your office base or nearest suitable office location for your non-office working hours.
