Responsibilities
- Deliver efficient business administration services, supporting the Head of Service and Leadership Team on a daily basis, including handling sensitive HR, financial, and governance information.
- Manage and support the Clinical Team Administrator, providing coaching and mentoring.
- Organise and plan meetings for the senior leadership team, including agendas, minutes, and action tracking.
- Assist with project documentation, newsletters, social media updates, and urgent communications.
- Maintain and update systems such as SharePoint, MS Teams, and e‑roster; input and present data using spreadsheets and dashboards.
- Support recruitment processes and coordinate induction for new staff, including access to systems and equipment.
- Maintain accurate personnel files, attendance records, and documentation for Charitable Funds.
- Identify and implement improvements to administrative systems and procedures.
- Contribute to induction and training programmes for administrative staff; support cross‑directorate meetings and events.
- Uphold Trust values, equality and diversity principles, and comply with relevant legislation and policies.
The post is designed to support the Head of Service, Therapies Leadership Team and clinical teams, providing an efficient and effective business support administration service in line with the Directorate's key operational and performance requirements (including HR, Performance, Governance/Patient Safety and Finance). The post holder will work closely with the Assistant Business Manager in the design and delivery of administrative processes that support the delivery of Trust/Divisional and Directorate policy and procedures.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised Business Support Administrator to join our Speech & Language Therapy, Stroke and Neurorehabilitation team. This pivotal role supports the Head of Service, Therapies Leadership Team, and clinical teams by delivering efficient and effective business support services aligned with key operational and performance goals. The post holder will have previous experience supporting senior managers, excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and data presentation tools, and the ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
Essential Qualifications
- GCSE Level 4 or equivalent in English Language & Mathematics
- NVQ Level 3 Business Administration or equivalent level of experience or education
- T‑Levels/NVQ/BTEC Level 3
Desirable Qualifications
- Leadership or Management qualification e.g., Action Centred Leadership, or experience in a similar role with in‑depth knowledge of Business Administration systems and processes
- Proficient in the use of Office 365/MS Teams, including intermediate Word, Excel, PowerPoint & relevant software
- Experience of administrative staff management, including sickness absence, training and development and performance management (1:1s, appraisals)
- Project support and management of associated documentation, ability to produce standard work guides and reports
- High level of organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously and manage workload allocation across individuals
- Able to produce clear and accurate written and verbal documentation
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality & GDPR
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrate compassion, kindness and self‑awareness

- The salary advertised is for full‑time hours. If the post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro‑rata.
