Job description
About the role

Are you a strategic finance leader ready to drive growth and deliver real impact for high‑potential businesses? Do you love building relationships, finding solutions to clients’ problems and adding value?

Our Business Services and Outsourcing team in Manchester is growing and is currently seeking a Director to join them on their journey.

Responsibilities
  • Build and sustain strong business‑development relationships, actively representing the firm within the Manchester and North West business community and innovation hubs, and participating in seminars and panel events to generate new opportunities.
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of clients within the tech and high‑growth sectors, focusing on delivering fast‑paced strategic solutions and strategic finance services rather than traditional year‑end accounts and tax compliance.
  • Take full ownership of client meetings by leading discussions, driving projects to completion, and managing and mentoring a team to provide high‑quality financial insights.
  • Deliver strategic finance support, including financial modelling, forecasting, fractional CFO support and producing insightful financial data to inform key business decisions.
  • Serve as a vital link between the corporate finance team and clients, enhancing management information systems for businesses that may not yet be ready for transactions.
About you
  • The relevant qualifications (ACA / ACCA).
  • Excellent business‑development skills with a proven track record of winning new work and cultivating enduring client relationships.
  • Proven experience in a management role within professional services, ideally with 3 years at a senior‑manager level and readiness to step confidently into a Director position.
  • Strong expertise in strategic finance, business advisory and developing management information, with a preference for experience in tech or high‑growth sectors.
  • Demonstrated capability to independently lead client meetings, manage diverse portfolios and motivate teams to deliver insightful financial and strategic results.
  • Flexibility to work with a visible presence in the Manchester office as required and reliable commuting ability if not based centrally.
  • Clear ambition to progress towards partnership within a 5‑10 year career plan, exhibiting a proactive market‑facing mindset and leadership potential.
