Job description

This expanding US law firm has an exciting and newly created opportunity for a Business Development & Marketing Specialist to be part of their new look BD team and plans for the London & European regions. The culture of the firm is unrivalled, genuinely one of the most dynamic and collegiate firms we work with.

  • £55,000 - £60,000 plus excellent employee benefits including generous holiday allowance, pension, and medical insurance
  • Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 remote
  • Location: Liverpool Street

This role will suit a current Marketing Business Development Coordinator looking to take on more responsibility and gain direct experience in a smaller setting. The Business Development & Marketing Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the newly hired BD Director and CMO with all London and European marketing and business development initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with lawyers and leaders across all the London and European departments, supporting special projects and sharing best practice intelligence.

Business Development & Marketing Specialist duties include:

  • Create and maintain tailored materials for various business development opportunities, including pitches, client presentations, attorney biographies, RFPs, and other client-facing materials.
  • Identify and execute in-person events and webinars.
  • Research hot topics and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Maintain engagement and client lists by practice and industry for new business development opportunities.
  • Ensure the firm’s website and collateral materials are regularly updated to reflect experience and expertise.
  • Gather business intelligence and research for current and prospective clients, as well as competitive intelligence for key practice areas and industries.
  • Produce directory submissions for practice areas (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500).
  • Identify relevant marketing opportunities such as speaking engagements and awards.
  • Maintain the CRM database, including matter experience for practice groups.

Business Development & Marketing Specialist requirements include:

  • Experience as a legal industry business developer and/or marketer with a minimum of X years in a corporate law firm environment, preferably with exposure to Funds.
  • Strong academic background; studying towards marketing qualifications is a plus.
  • Results-driven, proactive, enthusiastic, imaginative, and a strong influencer.
