Job Description
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan targeting the education sector.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet client needs.
- Deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to overall company growth.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, opportunities, and outcomes in the CRM system.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Business Development Manager should have:
- Full UK driving license, with flexibility to visit customers nationwide, including occasional overnight stays.
- Strong customer-facing skills, with experience in training, presentations, and business development.
- 5+ years of IT sales experience, with proven success in developing education SI and MSP customers. Ideally from a networking background.
- Good understanding of education procurement frameworks, funding models, and IT needs (e.g., digital classrooms, secure networks, safeguarding compliance).
- Highly motivated, well-organised, detail-oriented, and effective at time and project management.
- Strong market research and analysis skills, able to provide customer reports, competitive analysis, and market insights.
- A team player, able to collaborate across departments and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
What's on Offer
- Base salary in the range of £50,000 to £60,000, depending on experience.
- 40% on-target earnings (OTE) to reward high performance.
