The Opportunity: Deliver the business development strategy for growth of industrial services and engineering revenues in line with the Go to Market Strategy covering existing customer development as well as profitable new markets and customers in chosen sectors. Contribute to all aspects of business development in support of the commercial success of the business. Lead new business development through identifying strategic sales opportunities and winning new business, managing the client relationship through to closure. Utilise marketing techniques and tools to develop leads, secure new clients, and maintain existing clients. Actively populate and maintain the company CRM with accurate data. Support proposals team with creation of win themes and key content.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver the business development strategy for growth of industrial services and engineering revenues in line with the Go to Market Strategy; develop existing customers and profitable new markets and customers in chosen sectors.
  • Lead new business development by identifying strategic sales opportunities and winning new business; manage the client relationship through to closure.
  • Utilise marketing techniques and tools to develop leads, secure new clients, and maintain existing clients.
  • Populate and maintain the company CRM with accurate data.
  • Support proposals team with creation of win themes and key content.
  • Implement innovative business development strategies to optimise competitive advantage and attain new sales in chosen market sectors in line with strategic goals.
  • Track, effect, and communicate new business through the CRM tool.
  • Achieve sales and growth targets in line with budget and future plan forecast targets.
  • Deliver sales and gross profit in line with agreed regional and sector targets, ensuring regional and business streams are attaining targets and maximising customer opportunities.
  • Establish relationships with key industry players and partners to develop networking avenues and generate new business opportunities.
  • Identify new business leads, capture trends in the marketplace, and develop ideas for sales and BD opportunities.
  • Identify potential business partners and new markets.
  • Develop mature sales sectors and grow markets through a mix of sales, business development and management; support creation of BD plans within regions and account manage areas of responsibility.
  • Negotiate agreements with new and potential business partners and bring suitable deals to conclusion.
  • Inform and advise the client about the products and product development; ensure new client contract implementations are suitable for the business and align with future delivery.
  • Work with internal departments to ensure timely compliance with corporate approval processes.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders and represent the business to senior levels of management in key customers; manage long-term relationships and lifecycle; deliver excellent customer service and monitor service levels.
  • Market Analysis: support market analysis and communicate major regional activities; feed up-to-date knowledge of the market and competitors into business planning.
  • Sales Culture Development: encourage and embed the Sales and Customer Relationship culture.
  • Key Account Management: contribute to delivery of the business growth strategy and ensure Key Accounts are managed and developed in coordination with Operational Management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience across Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Process, Power and Pharma markets, with broad networks in each area. A good track record in Business Development and Sales conversion, selling on value at a senior level.
  • Business Development & Marketing experience with multi-discipline Maintenance and Projects Frameworks, Construction Projects & Turnarounds.
  • Strong preference for operational experience in the sectors served, in customer or supply chain positions.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and workload in a pressurised environment, meeting strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both presentations and written proposals.
  • Must be self-motivated and success orientated
  • Based from either the Grangemouth or Teesside office, with extensive travelling across Scotland & North East England.
