Business Development Lead, FIG

Business Development Lead for a global law firm, aligned to the financial institutions sector group. This eminent, market-leading group of lawyers is looking for someone to work hand in glove with them to drive the strategic growth of the sector globally. As the BD lead, you will manage a global team, and have oversight of the planning and development of the sector. The firm offers a good culture, and the bids team has strong engagement from the fee-earning community. The BD team is under new leadership, and continued growth is very much part of the future plans.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of business development strategies that drive growth, market share, and client engagement.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decision-making and identify new business opportunities.
  • Elevate the group’s market profile through targeted campaigns, thought leadership, events, sponsorships, and media engagement.
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality pitches, proposals, and RFP responses, ensuring compelling, client-focused messaging and seamless collaboration with partners and the central pitch team.
  • Drive cross-selling initiatives by working with other practice and industry groups, maximising opportunities for multi-disciplinary client solutions.
  • Monitor and report on the return on investment of all business development and marketing initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of eight years’ experience in business development, marketing, or client relationship management within the legal, financial services, or professional services sector. You will also demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the financial industry, including key market players, trends, and regulatory environment. You should have achieved success in developing and executing business development strategies that drive revenue growth.
