The Role

FT Specialist, a division of the FT Group, provides niche audience groups with must‑have information that helps them make better decisions and operate more effectively. We’re seeking a dedicated and talented Business Development Executive to join our London‑based subscription sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive sales support and business development service, ensuring efficiency and revenue targets are achieved and maintained for FT Specialists’ newest product, Sustainable Views, which provides financial services companies with essential insights into the fast‑changing world of ESG policy and regulation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personally achieve new business sales targets
  • Utilise marketing data effectively to maximise subscription sales
  • Support existing clients during the renewal process
  • Create and maintain accurate customer records in Salesforce (CRM)
  • Represent the brand at external events and generate leads
  • Liaise with Legal, Tax, Operations and Finance teams as needed
  • Report client and market feedback to improve the product
  • Support with ad‑hoc projects, reporting and data analysis
  • Complete all sales support tasks accurately and within deadlines
  • Clearly articulate company policy regarding subscription terms & conditions
Required Skills and Experience
  • Prior experience in sales or sales support
  • Ability to prioritise for high return and meet deadlines
  • Client‑focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience presenting product value and closing sales
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem‑solving and influencing skills
  • Organised, proactive and adaptable
Desirable
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Interest in data maintenance
  • Proficiency in a second language
