SALARY: £60–£70K + Performance related bonus scheme. Applications are also welcome from candidates who wish to work on a self‑employed basis either Ltd Co or Sole Trader.

LOCATION: East Yorkshire – This is a hybrid role so applications are invited from the North, North West or North East of England.

THE ROLE

Our client delivers high‑quality engineering, fabrication, and installation projects across oil & gas, renewable, power, and petrochemical sectors. From one‑off fabrications to full project delivery, the team takes pride in doing things properly, safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. They are a growing business with strong technical roots and a hands‑on team. Now they are looking for someone who can help keep that growth going by spotting opportunities, building relationships, and helping to tell their story.

This isn’t your typical corporate BD job. You’ll be out there researching clients, understanding what’s happening in the market, and building genuine relationships that turn into work. If you’re commercially switched‑on, proactive, and like getting stuck in, you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Research new clients, projects and competitors and help them stay ahead of the game.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities across the core sectors.
  • Get to know key decision‑makers and make sure our client stays front of mind.
  • Support with bids, tenders and capability statements.
  • Keep an eye on industry news and tender portals for what’s coming next.
  • Help get the company name out there through social media, website updates and marketing materials and attending events and networking opportunities.
  • Work closely with the management and project teams to understand what they do and communicate it clearly to clients.
What The Client Is Looking For
  • Experience in business development, sales or marketing ideally in engineering, fabrication or energy industries.
  • Confident communicator who enjoys building relationships and following up leads.
  • Commercially aware and comfortable learning the technical side of what the client does.
  • Happy working in a smaller, fast‑moving business where you’ll wear a few hats.
  • Driven, reliable and keen to make a real impact.
What You’ll Get
  • Competitive salary plus performance‑based bonus.
  • The chance to make a visible difference in a growing business.
  • Friendly, straight‑talking team and supportive management.
  • Flexibility and autonomy to shape how you do your job.
  • Opportunities to develop as the business expands.
