A digital services company in Leeds is seeking a Data Business Analyst to analyze the current SQL Server data warehouse and define a cloud-native solution on AWS. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in enterprise environments and a strong understanding of data structures and ETL processes. This role involves working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive clarity on the transformation roadmap, offering £400/day Outside IR35.

Data Business Analyst

The Role:

You'll play a pivotal role in analysing the existing data warehouse (AS-IS), defining the future state (TO-BE) on AWS, and identifying the gaps across data models, architecture, and processes. This role requires someone confident working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive clarity and ensure alignment on the transformation roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse and document the current state of the SQL Server data warehouse, including data models, ETL processes, and reporting layers.
• Define the TO-BE state for a cloud-native data warehouse solution on AWS (e.g. Redshift, S3, Glue, etc.).
• Perform a detailed gap analysis, identifying discrepancies in data sources, structures, governance, and business logic.
• Engage with data engineers, architects, and business users to gather requirements and validate findings.
• Support the development of migration strategies, ensuring data integrity and alignment with business objectives.
• Contribute to the data strategy and roadmap, highlighting risks and dependencies.
