Job description
Business Analyst – Early Education and Care

Location: Paddington, Brisbane/hybrid
Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent

Join one of Queensland’s largest and most respected early education and care providers, supporting over 130 services across the state. We’re dedicated to creating exceptional learning environments for children — and we know that excellence starts with great people, systems, and insights.

We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our high-performing Head Office Corporate team, where you’ll play a key role in driving operational efficiency, service quality, and commercial success through data and analysis.

As a Business Analyst, you’ll be responsible for analysing business performance, developing clear and actionable reports, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate closely with leaders across our network to translate insights into practical strategies that enhance both service delivery and business outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Analysing and interpreting business performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Power BI Dashboard Development: Build intuitive, interactive dashboards and visuals for diverse stakeholders.
  • Data Interpretation & Insight Generation: Analyse raw Excel/CSV data to identify trends and extract actionable insights.
  • Automation & API Integration: Automate reporting workflows and integrate data from multiple systems using APIs.
  • Creating and maintaining insightful reports and dashboards for informed decision-making
  • Partnering with stakeholders to turn data insights into actionable business improvements
  • Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and availability across systems and platforms
  • Supporting projects and initiatives that strengthen operational and financial performance
  • Childcare Sector Analysis: Interpret data in the context of childcare operations including utilisation, absenteeism, bookings, and staffing.
About You:

You’re a confident communicator who enjoys using data to solve problems and drive improvement. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are motivated by the idea of making a difference in a sector that truly matters.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Confident in Advanced Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling, with a focus on building intuitive, user‑friendly dashboards that support decision‑making across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain data insights clearly and meaningfully
  • A collaborative mindset and proactive approach to problem‑solving
  • Experience in education sector is ideal, but not essential
  • Track record of delivering measurable improvements through data‑led initiatives, including automation, performance optimisation, and predictive modelling.
  • Experience in regulatory reporting and compliance, with the ability to interpret and prepare data for submissions aligned to NQF and CCS requirements.
