Are you an experienced Building Surveyor looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference to residents' homes and living conditions?

Do you want to work for a large, well‑structured housing organisation that offers stability, strong benefits, flexible working, and the opportunity to manage varied and meaningful projects?

This is an opportunity to join a leading housing association within their Maintenance Services team, covering West London and the Home Counties. You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality surveying services across occupied and void residential properties, supporting repairs, maintenance, and improvement works.

In this role, you will carry out detailed internal and external property inspections, diagnose building defects, and produce clear, itemised specifications of works. You will manage complex repairs and maintenance projects from inspection through to completion, working closely with contractors, residents, and internal teams to ensure quality, value for money, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Alongside technical surveying responsibilities, you will support damp and mould investigations, condition reports, insurance‑related works such as fire or flood damage, and disrepair cases. You will also handle resident complaints, MP and Councillor enquiries, and play an active role in resolving issues sensitively and professionally.

This position offers long‑term stability, strong organisational support, and the chance to work on a wide variety of housing stock while directly improving residents' homes and experiences.

The ideal candidate is a confident and experienced Building Surveyor with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and experience within housing, maintenance, or residential property environments.

This role would suit a Building Surveyor, Property Surveyor, Repairs Surveyor, or Maintenance Surveyor from a social housing, local authority, or residential background looking for a secure and rewarding long‑term role.

The Role:
  • Carry out detailed internal and external inspections across occupied and void domestic properties
  • Diagnose building defects including damp and mould and specify appropriate remedial works
  • Manage repairs and maintenance projects from inspection through to completion
  • Handle complex cases including disrepair matters, insurance works (fire, flood, theft), and latent defects
  • Permanent, full‑time role (35 hours per week) with hybrid working across West London, the Home Counties and working from home
The Person:
  • Experience in a Building Surveyor, Property Surveyor, Repairs Surveyor, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of building construction methods, defects, and repair techniques
  • Experience producing detailed work specifications, costings, and technical reports
  • Background in social housing, local authority, or residential property maintenance desirable
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation and compliance
